November 2013 – Moving forward with the locally preferred alternative
In July 2013, the Oversight Team (the project’s decision-making group) met to discuss input from the Salem City Council in the form of the “Salem Alternative.” The Oversight Team asked the project team to refine the Salem Alternative so that it could be compared against the other alternatives. In October the Oversight Team reviewed the alternative, which included refinements to the roads and ramps to ensure that traffic could flow as smoothly and safely as possible.
Now each Oversight Team member is reviewing the Salem Alternative with their respective councils or commissions and will recommend a locally preferred alternative early next year.
